If you’re looking to campervan Australia, it sometimes feels like groundhog day where you see the same manufacturers over and over again, and only a few brand selections at dealerships; and it leaves you wondering if you’re really seeing the full range of campervan brands that are being manufactured here.
So we’ve done a bit of research, and the following seem to be smaller campervan brands in Australia, companies that don’t necessarily have stock ready to be purchased at a dealer, but they are designing and building consistent models (i.e. not just one-off conversions).
Also, because they’re small companies they don’t necessarily have the marketing budget to keep their websites up to date. Information about these camper vans is a little sparse, but it gives you an idea of what’s currently available and you can at least make some comparisons.
Campervan Australia – small brands
Talvor
Talvor are the supplier of all the Appollo rental fleet, and while they do say on their website that you can buy a new one (rather ex rental campervans for sale), I haven’t been able to find a new one for sale online.
For those that are looking for a smaller campervan, we’ve got a couple of Toyota Hiace campervans for sale coming up…
Hitop Camper
The most reliable campervans in Australia are those built on the Toyota Hiace, like the Talvor Hitop Camper.
The Toyota Hiace campervans are reliable and easily serviced, which makes them popular and therefore have strong resale value. No doubt it’s why so many campervan hire companies have Toyota Hiace camper vans.

UniCampa
As expected, there really isn’t much information about UniCampa or their range. I’ve been able to find a few of their motorhomes for sale by dealers, but not much about camper vans.
They’ve got two campervan layouts, and what makes this brand really interesting to me, is that they’re built on the LDV V80 chassis.

If you want to see ALL the campervans manufactured in Australia (inclusing all those listed above), we’ve compiled a spreadsheet of them all and made it available to you below.
So that’s a selection of the campervan brands by smaller manufacturers here in Australia. Of course, there’s probably others but I just haven’t been able to find them!
If you have other camper van manufacturers that you think I should add to this article, please let me know. 🙂
